Year after year, customers rank Basefarm at the top
of Whitelane Research and PA Consulting

Whitelane Research has since 2013 published its annual IT sourcing analysis in Europe including the Nordic “Whitelane IT Sourcing Study Nordic 2022”.
350 respondents have evaluated 23 IT service providers and a total of 680 collaborative relationships.

Demanding yet satisfied customers

It is a known fact that Nordic businesses have high expectations from their suppliers. Therefore, it is gratifying that with 78% satisfaction rate, Basefarm stays among the top tier of General Satisfaction among customers again in 2022.

Focus from outsourcing to insourcing

According to the report, countries in the Nordics want to ensure unrestrained scaling in line with business needs.
63 per cent of respondents across the countries Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway state this as the main reason.

The second most important reason (61 per cent) is the need to be able to concentrate on one’s own core activities. This is up 15 percentage points from last year and represents the Whitelane survey’s biggest leap.

– But, isn’t this obvious and perhaps more startling that the rationale has scored so low in the past?” asks Marketing Manager Robert Baumann.

He explains that many development environments and businesses have been ahead of operating providers on the trail on cloud services.

– While IT operations were previously outsourced, cloud expertise is now being insourced. This is a paradigm shift for our industry. Traditional outsourcing is replaced by insourcing of cloud expertise both in development (Dev) and operations/Ops. This explains much of the big leap of 15 percentage points,” he says.

From operations to development

The change also reflects the promise from operations to business development and innovation. Based on this, Basefarm is significantly higher up the value chain.

– We are a complete DevOps partner through participation in business, organizational and IT system development (Dev) as well as Ops for both public cloud and private cloud, says Baumann.

Fifty-three per cent of respondents across countries cite access to resources and talent as justification for future sourcing.

Whitelane Nordics 2022 validates that Basefarm is at the top of overall customer satisfaction.

– Basefarm is among 4-5 companies who maintain their position in the top tier. It is inspiring to be evaluated in high regard by our customers and we intend to hang on top,” says Baumann.
