The more open the clouds are, the more important the security is
Cloud concepts are being implemented more commonly in a parallel or combined way as multicloud and real hybrid cloud solutions, while the demands on security are ever increasing. Security is becoming a determining factor in whether clouds are utilized successfully.
Just as individual cloud concepts can no longer be considered single entities, combined clouds will also be applied in all aspects of information security management. It will be possible to have a standardized framework above and beyond perimeter security. Hybrid cloud infrastructures will receive hybrid security strategies.
Reaching this point will require the development of new cloud-spanning security features, the determination of universal guidelines and the implementation of end-to-end security concepts, architectures and solutions.
The development will be greatly accelerated by the new EU guidelines on cyber and information security and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Expected fines of up to four percent of yearly revenues will motivate internationally active companies in particular to strictly implement the new rules.
All in all, the topic of cloud management and cloud data management will continue to gain considerable significance – including the need for competent cloud consultants and cloud operation experts who support cloud users in analyzing, searching for, encoding and securing data.
